Welcome to the World

The world is so big. That seems like an obvious statement, but you don’t realize it until you go out to explore it. There are three things I love to do: shop, sing and travel. If I am doing all three I am in paradise. So let’s begin my journey.

My senior year I had the opportunity to travel parents free to Puerto Vallarta. Along with probably 10 of my fellow classmates we ventured across the border. Because my family was used to traveling in cars vs on planes my luggage consisted of rather large duffle bags (which are hard to carry when you have multiples). I don’t remember much about the flight, but I remember when we landed and walked to grab our luggage, the surreal feeling of no longer being in Chicago anymore. With an itinerary and set locations where we could eat we explored the city.

I had my first Mexican Coke and ate at Planet Hollywood for the first time. I felt like I was splurging on a pre paid trip. We went to a foam party and horse back riding. I also went parasailing for the first and only time. Even though this trip happened a long time ago I still remember those details, because you never forget your first!

Travel Tip:
Luggage is a good investment. I recommend have a large suitcase and at least 2 carry-ons. Since carry-ons vary in size try to follow the standard size (22 x 14 x 9) of an overhead compartment when looking at dimensions for your luggage. Learning to travel with a carry on can save you money, as most airlines allow you one carry on at no charge, and if you get to the gate and the flight is full the airlines will check your bag for free!

Personal Tip:
I told you the three things I love: shop, sing, and travel. Find what you love to do and indulge in it. The things that we love to do will sustain us on those days when we are feeling unloveable. Shopping can be expensive but budgeting and getting what you want can be rewarding.
